Glamorgan History Walks & Talks – Walk Eleven
Start at car park at the top of Mynydd Y Gaer on the road between Heol-Y-Cyw and Glynogwr

This walk takes us along part of the Glamorgan Ridgeway. A road so old, the Romans described it as ‘ancient’. It is peppered with tumuli and forts. On our walk we also visit one of the earliest churches ever built in Wales. One claimed to be shrouded in Arthurian legend. We also visit a petrified forest.

This walk has been given an ‘Experienced Walkers’ grading. For an explanation of what that means and how these gradings are determine click here.
This is walk is very nearly 8 miles hence the “experienced Walker’ rating. It is also all cross country. The views are amazing. There are no style just gates so no climbing. However, one thing walkers need to be aware of is that there are no toilets on this route.
