Time travel to Barry Docks

Barry Docks

11 million tons of coal passed through Barry Docks in a single year, in 1913. This made it the busiest coal exporting dock in the world. Dwarfing even nearby Cardiff in its output. And that’s not bad considering the docks didn’t even open until 1889.

When you visit the site today it’s difficult to imagine what it was like in that heady heyday. I have created this video by animating old photographs using AI, to try and bring it all to life. To make it feel like we are stepping back in time and having a look around.
